This document is a recommendation what our users can put in their privacy policy to get started with Recapt

Recapt (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides below a sample description of our services and the technology involved. This description is for informational purposes only and is not legal advice. Our Customers (“you”, “your”) should consult their own privacy or legal counsel about what must be included in cookie banners, descriptions, and policies. All obligations and liabilities are outlined in our agreements, and this page does not form part of—or modify—any agreement between Recapt and our Customers.

Example for Privacy Policy: “We use Recapt on our website(s) and/or app(s) to better understand how users engage with our services and to enhance their experience. Recapt visualizes user interactions, helping us identify issues and friction points so we can refine our services. To do this, Recapt uses first-party cookies and related technologies to collect personal data on our behalf—this may include online identifiers (device IP address, user ID), identification data (name, email — only if you explicitly collect it), technical data (device type, screen size, browser info), geographic location (country only), behavioral data (clicks, taps, scrolls), and any additional personal data you explicitly submit through Recapt [list here any other personal data you submit]. Recapt may also use aggregated and anonymized data to improve its services and technologies. All data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws and under a data processing agreement with Recapt. Please note: We remain the data controller for any personal data collected through our use of Recapt. Recapt acts solely as a data processor on our behalf.”

Example for Cookie Banner: Recapt helps us understand how users interact with our website by recording clicks, navigation, and technical session data. This information is used to improve usability and support, and may include your device, browser, screen size, country location, and interactions. No sensitive personal data is captured unless you provide it explicitly. Data is processed on our behalf by Recapt, who acts as our data processor under GDPR.

Example for categorization in CMP: Depending on how you group cookie types, you could display it like this:

Category: Functional / Analytics

Name: Recapt

Purpose: Session replay and user behavior analysis to improve usability and support.

Data collected: Device info, country, clicks, navigation events, and explicitly submitted data.

Data retention: As defined in our Privacy Policy.
